Maine Scents and Seasons offers six different scents and mixtures of natural rustic potpourri. We only use the highest quality ingredients in our potpourri. No cheap fillers. This sampler includes a 2 cup bag of potpourri in each scent listed below. Each sample is packaged in a resealable brown kraft bag. See descriptions below.
CITRUS N SPICE
Spices such as cinnamon, All spice, and cloves mix with orange slices, lemon, and orange peel to produce a wonderful aroma that will remind you of an old fashioned Christmas. This is great for simmering or to display.
COUNTRY SPICE
Country Spice is our best selling potpourri! Cinnamon sticks, rose hips, anise star, pine cones, and more are mixed with my special country spice fragrance oil blend. This is the perfect holiday scent too.
HOT APPLE PIE
This mixture combines the sweet smell of apples, cinnamon, and vanilla with the buttery aroma of home baked pie crust. Apple slices and dices, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, and more combine for this perfect blend.
SPICED APPLE N PEEL
Chunks of dried apples and orange peel, cinnamon sticks, rose hips and more come together in this spiced apple potpourri with a hint of citrus. It is very similar to the famous Clair Burke Apple Jack N Peel. This one will scent your whole house.
PUMPKIN SPICE
Spiced with cloves, allspice, star anise, and cinnamon. Small little orange pods look like miniature pumpkins. This is wonderful simmering or as a decorative potpourri.
MAINE WOODS
The pinecones in this beautiful, rustic potpourri come directly from the woods at my Sister's camp at Upper Lead Mountain Pond. This popular mixture includes cedar tips, pinecones, juniper berries, acorns, balsam fir, twigs and so much more. Maine Woods is best as a decorative potpourri instead of simmering. Add the potpourri to a small candle display, set out in an old wooden bowl, basket or other container and enjoy the beauty and fragrance of the Maine Woods.
How to enjoy your potpourri
Simmering Potpourri: Add approximately ¼ cup of potpourri to an old pan or electric simmering pot. Cover with water and simmer, do not bring to a full boil. Keep an eye on the water level. Add more when necessary. Place water and potpourri in a jar when done simmering. Store in the refrigerator until ready to simmer it again. This will prevent mold from forming.
Decorative Potpourri: Maine Scents and Seasons potpourris are also beautiful and fragrant sitting out in decorative or vintage bowl or basket. When fragrance fades, add a few drops of refresher oil. This will extend the life of your potpourri for a long time. Our potpourris also look great as part of a candle display. For example, put your candles on a beautiful plate and surround with potpourri.
Home Fragrance Tip
Purchase candles, potpourri and wax melts in the same or complimenting scents. Burn in different areas of your house to make your whole house smell fantastic.
